Time Flies By When You Are Having Fun

Hey guys,

I hope you are all doing well and enjoying this warm weather we’ve been having before the apparent second cold front arrives… although hopefully that won’t actually happen!

When it was my birthday in July, I found myself thinking, “Wow, I’m already 27 years old.” It honestly feels like just yesterday that I was in high school, dreaming about the day I would finally finish school and become an adult, completely oblivious to how difficult adulthood was actually going to be.

Now, all of a sudden, I have my driver’s licence, a job, and I’ve even lived on my own for a while, along with so many other things. Yet somehow, it feels like the years are passing by faster and faster.

When I look back over the years, I feel like I’ve accomplished quite a lot. I’ve also tried so many activities and hobbies that I probably wouldn’t have chosen to try before because I was too nervous or afraid that things wouldn’t go well.

One of the best decisions I’ve made was going back to the dance studio. I genuinely feel like my life has changed for the better since I started dancing again. I’ve become so much more confident, and I’m finally starting to try many of the things I’ve always wanted to do. I also feel like my dancing has improved a lot. Maybe it’s because I’m older now and I’ve learned how to actually listen to the music properly while I dance!

My most recent challenge has been starting Hyrox. It’s basically a combination of strength training and running, with a lot of cardio involved, so it has been very different for me. I’ve always been the girl who plays padel and dances, so this has definitely pushed me outside of my comfort zone.

I don’t have a lot of upper-body or lower-body strength, so starting Hyrox has been completely new and incredibly challenging. But I’m absolutely loving it. I love pushing my limits, challenging myself and discovering what my body is actually capable of doing. The stiffness afterwards is hectic, but strangely, I enjoy it because it reminds me that I worked hard and that I’m getting stronger.

I think it’s so important to challenge yourself and try the things you’ve always wanted to do, even when they scare you and even when you’re convinced you might not succeed. Sometimes we spend so much time worrying about whether we’ll be good enough that we forget to simply enjoy the experience.

Life is about taking risks, stepping outside of your comfort zone and making the most of every opportunity. You won’t always succeed, and things won’t always go according to plan, but that’s all part of the journey.

Life is short, the years go by incredibly quickly, so try the things that scare you, push yourself, enjoy the little moments and, most importantly, live life to the absolute best of your ability.

Thanks for reading my post, I hope you enjoyed it.

Bye xx
