Own Who You Are

Hey everyone

I hope you have all been having a great week so far and are enjoying the heat.

Today I want to talk about loving yourself. I have always been the type of person that says that you have to love yourself before you can even try to love somebody else, and I think that is the key point in any relationship.

If you do not love yourself then you will always be putting pressure on yourself to “be better” or “look prettier” therefore your life will never truly be your best life and you will struggle to be happy. When you love yourself, that is when you will have a happy life and find enjoyment in the smallest of things.

When you look in a mirror and you see your reflection, do you think to yourself “I am happy with how I look and feel” or do you think to yourself “I am not enough”. If the answer is that you are not enough then try and change that negative into a positive and tell yourself that you are enough and then you will slowly but surely start to believe it. The mind works in mysterious ways, and sometimes the change comes and you don’t even notice it.

I would like to end this post off with a quote

“In the infinity of life where I am, all is perfect, whole and complete. I am always divinely protected and guided. It is safe for me to look within myself. It is safe for me to look into the past. It is safe for me to enlarge my viewpoint of life. I am far more than my personality past, present or future. I now choose to rise above my personality problems to recognise the magnificence of my being. I am totally willing to learn to love myself. All is well in my life”.

We Choose Our Thoughts

Hey everyone

I was reading one of my favourite self help books the other night and found a passage that was so inspiring to me.

Your mind is a very powerful weapon, it determines your actions and thoughts. When something bad happens to you, it is normally due to you having a negative thought, the more you think that thought, the more you are going to think that your mind has to think that thought, but that is not true because believe it or not, your mind has chosen to think that thought. I used to be the type of person that thought negative thoughts, I still am sometimes, that is mostly due to anxiety but I am working on changing this through self help books, Reiki, using my family as positive influences and thinking correctly.

If you want something positive to happen then you need to choose to think a positive thought, because at the end of the day, your life is made up of “mind over matter”.

For example; if you think to yourself “I am going to pass my English exam” then you will most likely pass it, if you believe it fully. If you think to yourself “I am not going to pass this English exam” then the chances of you passing are very slim. My dad always says that anything you say after the words “I am” will happen. If you say something negative after those words then something negative will happen, if you think something positive after those words then something positive will happen.

When you wake up in the morning, you should start the day with at least 1 positive thought.

It’s Holiday Time

Hey everyone

There are 3 words to describe my holiday at the Pilanesberg

  • Incredible
  • Relaxing
  • Interesting

On the 28 September I went on holiday to the Pilanesberg and stayed at Bakubang with my mom, dad, aunty and uncle. We stayed in a beautiful chalet and had the best time ever. When we went on game drives we saw Leopards, Rhinos, Elephants, Baboons, Monkeys, Zebras and Giraffes.

My uncle leant me his camera to take pictures of our trip and I had the time of life taking pictures of the animals and all of the scenery, the scenery was truly beautiful, especially when there was a full moon and sunset. We stayed right outside of the park and had Elephants and Warthogs walking past our chalet.

We even had a Monkey in our chalet and he took the spicy chips and started eating them. My parents and I went to go play tennis on the tennis courts at the place we were staying at and then went for a walk around Bakubang.

It was truly a holiday to remember.

What Are You Thankful For?

Hey everyone

I hope you had a great heritage day yesterday, I loved seeing everyone dressed in their traditional outfits yesterday when I went to the shops and looked on Facebook.

My inspiration for this blog post actually came from a children’s nursery song on CocoMelon (my nephews favourite program), the song is called “What Are You Thankful For”.

There are many different reasons to be thankful for everything that you have in life, but there are always some things that are more important and I feel like we should address those and see why they are so important.

The most important thing that I am thankful for is my family. They have been there for me through thick and thin, when I have am having some of my worse moments, I know I can count on them to make me feel better and help me through it, and when I am having my best moments I know that I can count on them to celebrate with me.

The second thing I am thankful for is the fact that I have a roof over my head and food and drinks on the table. Sadly there are a lot of people out there that don’t have either of these and so we should be grateful that we are blessed with all of our great fortunes

The third thing I am thankful for is the fact that I live in such a safe and beautiful estate, where I can just walk out of my door at anytime of the day and go for a walk around the estate without any worries about my safety.

Those are 3 of the things that I am thankful for.

What are you thankful for?

Live, love, laugh

Hey everyone

I hope you are doing well?

I always used to get really upset whenever something unfortunate happened like me losing a job, and I always wondered what I had done wrong. I recently realised that we shouldn’t break down because of all of the bad things that happen, we need to pick ourselves up and learn from our mistakes and think about all of the things that could and will go right.

A couple days ago I lost my job and even though I was very disappointed I didn’t let it get to me, instead I focused on making my mom and my online business work, and we are doing very well so far. We are going to sell stock at the market coming up in our estate which I am seriously excited about.

Why worry on bad things that happen when there are so many new possibilities and experiences coming your way.

You only get one life, cherish it and live everyday like its your last.

The 5 Reiki Principles

Hey everyone

I have been doing a lot of Reiki lately and have finally been attuned which is really exciting. I have decided to blog about “The 5 Reiki Principles”. These principles are;

  • Do not anger- This principle helps you discover what lies beneath your anger, and find other, more helpful ways to express your negative emotions.
  • Do not worry- You will always come across obstacles in life, but worrying about it can take us further away from love. This is a challenging principle, but helps you to trust outcomes.
  • Be grateful- Counting our blessings every day, even if they are the smallest ones can rewire the mind positively.
  • Work with diligence- This helps you to navigate life with ease and flow, giving something your complete attention demonstrates respect for it and also for yourself.
  • Be kind to yourself and others- Love is the essence of Reiki. Being kind without judgment strengthens our ability to live with passion and purpose, knowing that we are all connected.

I hope you enjoyed this blog post as much as I enjoyed writing it 🙂

Good Things Come To Those That Wait

Hey everyone

I hope you have had a good week so far, for a change I have actually had a pretty hectic week since I got back from holiday.

Yesterday was one of the best days I have had in a long time. I started my new part time job at the Seed Pod store in Broadacres and it was the best first day. I initially thought I was just going there for 1 or 2 hours to get shown around the place, but I ended up working a full day and I didn’t mind, because I love all things to do with art and felt like I really learnt a lot.

Last night I got the best news ever, an article that I wrote was published in my estates newsletter and I couldn’t be happier. It has always been a dream of mine to have an article that I have written to be shown in an article for everyone to see and now that dream has finally come true.

What are your dreams and accomplishments ?
