You Only Have One Life, Live It Well !

Hey guys

Sometimes in life people develop goals and dreams and maybe even get inspired to do something spontaneous.

A lot of the time the thing that prevents us from achieving these goals is fear. Fear that we may mess up completely or we get worried that it won’t turn out the way we hoped it would. Maybe you will mess up or maybe you will succeed in many wonderful and miraculous ways. You won’t be able to find out the outcome unless you push past the fear and not see it as a way to get weaker but see it as a way to flourish and grow as a person.

If you want to take up dancing, then get your computer out and sign up at the nearest dance studio, if you want to travel and see all of the wonders and beauty of the world, pack a bag and see it all.

This is definitely something that is easier said than done because our biggest obstacle other than fear is money. If you don’t have enough money right now, then don’t worry you can always save up and do these things at a later point when you are more financially ready and then look fear straight in the eye and push past it so that you can experience new things and make lots of memories along the way.

I used to be the type of person that let fear get in my way and then I realized that if you continue to be afraid of taking new risks, then you are not really living your life fully.

I would like to end this with a quote

“Life is too short to worry about stupid things. Have fun, fall in love, regret nothing and don’t let people bring you down”.

2000 And Growing

Hey guys

So yesterday I finally hit 2000 views, I am now over that amount though but I would just like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has been viewing and reading my blog posts, I am so grateful to every single one of you and thank you to the people who have been following my blog.

At first I started this blog because I wanted to be a journalist but did not have the grades and so I created this blog as a way to still write and it is the closest to Journalism I will get, and then I started to get recognised by Kickass Bosslady Magazine and it has been so amazing writing for them, I am super honoured. This blog has become so much more than a way to write posts, it has become my way to share my thoughts, experiences and feelings with all of you guys and release all my stresses by putting them in a post and hopefully I have been inspiring you all because that is also a goal of mine.

I have loved writing this blog and I am going to try and make at least 1 posts everyday 🙂

Sunday Fun Day

Hey guys

I hope you are keeping warm and relaxing on this very cold day, or shall I say this very “fresh” day.

To me Sundays are family days, for me the best kind of way to spend a Sunday is with my family, from eating popcorn and watching movies together to having a nice roast or braai, some people even like to go to church in the mornings with their family and give thanks to everything that they have.

Today after work, I am going to come home to a delicious chicken and salad lunch with my family. We were going to do a braai but it is not exactly the greatest weather for a braai and so instead we are going to get a chicken from Fournos along with my moms famous corn salad. I even got to see my dad at work today because he came to play Padel and as a bonus he got me a cappuccino and biscuits.

I love my family because they have no judgements when it comes to any faults or mistakes I have made, they always support me in any task I take on no matter how big or small the task is and at the end of the day they are always there for me whenever I need them.

I would like to end this with a quote, “ The love of a family is life’s greatest blessing”

Time Flies By When You Are Having Fun

Have you ever wondered why time goes by so fast and the years seem to be flying by.

I was driving to work one day and I thought to myself, “I am busy driving a car, I have a job and I am 22 years old”. It seems like it was just yesterday that I was 18 years old, with no license or job and trying to find my way around this crazy world. These changes are not only happening to me. So many other people have had rapid changes in their lives. To be completely honest, we are all still trying to find our way around the world whether you realize it or not, because we change all the time in many different ways as we grow older and our priorities and goals tend to change a little bit. All I know is that right know I am where I am supposed to be with my dream job (I did not even know that this was my dream job until I started it, and I think those are the best kinds of jobs), I am now doing Hip Hop dancing and loving every second and minute of it, my writing is going really well and many many other things have changed in my life for the better and I couldn’t be happier.

My brother is now married and he has the most beautiful, well behaved and incredibly cute little soon to be 4 year old boy named Ryley. My sister is now successfully running her own hairdressing business, she is a very talented and passionate hairdresser. Mom mom has finally become a granny and my dad a grandpa and they are doing such a great job at it, but I know they would because they are truly amazing parents and I am so lucky to have them and I am so happy that my future child will grow up with them as their grandparents.

Sometimes the smallest changes can have a major impact on your life and most of the time make our lives better in ways that we could of never even imagined, and that is the beauty of life, it is always changing and growing.

What changes have you had in your life.

Be Yourself

Hey guys

There comes a point in your life when you sit down and think to yourself, “Who are the people who accept me for who I am” and “Who are the people that can only accept me for the person that they want me to be”

In life it is very easy to change who you are in order to fit in and get people to like you. Sometimes we do not even realize it is happening. This does not only apply to making new friends, sometimes we change who we are in order to form a romantic relationship with someone because we no longer want to be single anymore.

Of course when you are in a friendship or relationship you do need to change slightly, or should I compromise in order to make the the relationship work.

There was a certain moment when I graduated from Hairdressing college where I really thought about who my true friends are. These are the people that accept my bad parts and cherish the good ones, they are the people that I know I can count on when things get rough because they are always there for me and I can be myself completely with no judgements. These people are otherwise knows as close friends and family. Come rain or shine, your family will always be there for you.

I would like to end this with a quote “Be proud of who you are, and not ashamed of how someone else sees you”.

Ways To Manage Anxiety

Hey everyone

I hope you are having a fantastic week and are keeping cool in this extremely hot weather.

Ever since I was younger I have battled a lot with major anxiety and I have been trying to figure out a healthy way to deal with it.

Throughout the years there have been a lot of hobbies I have started and most of those hobbies have really helped with my anxiety a lot. Playing tennis has always been something that I have loved to do and now that I work at a sports club, I have started playing tennis weekly again and I am loving it and it has been helping me a lot to manage my anxiety because when I hit the tennis ball it feels like I am hitting all my stresses away and for just that one hour alone, my stresses fade away, this also works with Padel because it is a mix of squash and tennis and also has become one of my favourite sports to play.

For about 3-4 years I have been doing dancing as well and that has been a very good outlet because it has allowed me to just disappear from everything for an hour and just be with awesome people and just focusing on dancing to the music and letting myself go and become completely relaxed, my new favourite form of dance is hiphop, I also love ballroom, latin, contemporary and even though I don’t get to do it a lot, I also like ballet.

I love to do Paint by Numbers and Diamond Painting because making something look beautiful on paper is the perfect way to creatively express yourself.

Last but not least is writing, writing for Kickass Bosslady Magazine, my Estates newsletter and writing my posts for my blog so that I can share my thoughts with you all. Out of all of the things I have mentioned above, taking all of my thoughts and opinions and writing about them and sharing it with you guys is the best way I could ever think of expressing myself creatively and emotionally.

Thank you for reading my post, I hope you all have found your own ways of dealing with your stresses if you have any. If you would like to share your thoughts with me then please do because I would love to hear anything and everything that you guys have to say.

I would like to end this post with a quote by Erma Bombeck “Worry is like a rocking chair: it gives you something to do but never gets you anywhere”.

New Challenges and Adventures

Hi everyone

Saying that it has been a long time since my last post is a major understatement. Since my last post my life has changed drastically and I would love to tell you all about these changes and how they have changed me as a person.

Lets start off with the biggest change in my life, and that is the fact that I FINALLY have a full time job that I absolutely without a doubt in my mind love. I am now working for a company called Africa Padel at the German Country Club branch. Padel is a new sport that has been brought to South Africa, it also happens to be the fastest growing sport in the world, it is very popular in Spain and Sweden. Padel is a very social sport that is a nice mixture of Squash and Tennis. The 2 main things I love about this job is that I am constantly meeting new and interesting people and I can play Padel before and after work. I definitely think having a job has changed me as a person in more way than just one. I have always been a very anxious person, which I might’ve mentioned a couple times in my blog posts and of all the things that make me anxious, the biggest one by far is driving especially at night and when it is raining and so I never really used to go out a lot and when I did it would be to places that are in my little comfort zone bubble, the places that I am more familiar with. Although the German Club is not far from my house, it is not a place that I would normally go to so it is very different and unfamiliar to me, which makes driving at night and during the rain very tough but I have managed to do it with the help of my parents who have made it easier for me to drive in the rain and at night by staying on the line with me while i drive so that I do not feel alone, because even when we don’t speak just the fact that they are there makes me feel 100 times better. I have also become a lot more responsible for myself and other things and I have also become much more independent and I am loving it.

Lets move on to the next thing that has happened in my life because if I continue with talking about my job then this blog post would never end. When I was in primary school I was friends with this one girl who is really awesome and we had drifted apart for years and now we have started to see each other again which has been so nice, because we get along just as well as we did when we were in primary school and that is extremely rare.

The last and most recent thing is that my dancing studio has finally brought in hip hop classes and I have started attending the classes and it is so much fun, so now my favourite kinds of dancing are contemporary and hip hop.

Thank you so much for reading my post, I know I always say this but I promise I will write more posts and keep you up to date on my life and all of my wonderful adventures, and I urge you to do the same as I would love to hear everything about what is happening in your lives.

I would love to end this post off with a quote by Nishan Panwar;

“Today is the start of a new adventure. New challenges to face, new memories to make and new obstacles to overcome”.

My New Journey In Life

Hey everyone

It has been a very long time since I have posted anything and I would just like to say that I am extremely excited to get back to my writing and sharing my journey with you all.

For the past 9 weeks I have been studying to become TEFL certified. For those of you who don’t know what TEFL is, it is Teaching English To Foreign Language people and I am studying online through the International TEFL Academy in the USA. My studying experience has been long and hard, but I have enjoyed every moment of it, even the assignments and all of the quizzes. I had to complete a 20 hour practicum where I have to do at least 14 hours of observing a class and 6 hours of actually tutoring. My Culture Connect is a non- profit organization based in Taiwan and that is where I did my practicum, I did it online though. Since I am in South Africa and My Culture Connect is in Taiwan the time difference is a bit weird, so I had to wake up around 3am or 4am for 50 minute observation sessions. I have to point out that I am not normally the type of person who likes to wake up that early, but waking up at that time was definitely worth it because I learnt so much while I was observing. I tutored a boy who is in grade four and he is from Taiwan. This was my very first time tutoring so I was a little nervous because I had no clue what to expect, but I enjoyed every single minute of it, it was the most amazing experience. He was such a nice kid and I got to know a lot about him and his traditions, we did some comprehension work and grammar.

I have 2 weeks left of the course then I am officially done and I am so excited for what is to come next.

You Are Special

Hey guys

A couple years ago I received a book called ”Your Are Special” and I have read this book countless times.

This is one of the most inspirational books I have ever read and it teaches you a lot about life and how powerful our thoughts are. This book is about a village of wooden people called Wemmicks. Each Wemmick gets 2 boxes of stickers, one box has golden stars and the other has grey dots. Everyday the Wemmicks go around giving each other stickers, the ones that were pretty and had nice smooth wood got golden stars and the ones that had rough wood and were not that good looking got grey dots.

There was one Wemmick named Punchinello and he wasn’t very perfect, he didn’t look as nice as all the other Wemmicks and he had rough wood. While all the others had golden stars all around them, Punchinello had grey dots. This made him feel very bad about himself because nobody wanted to be friends with him and they all made fun of him.

One day, Punchinello went to meet the man who created all of the Wemmicks, he went to go ask him why he isn’t as perfect as all the others. He said that just because Punchinello did not look like as pretty as the others do, he is still important and special and worth having golden stars on him, he just had to believe in himself. After spending hours with the man, Punchinello walked out of his house as a completely different Wemmick, he still looked the same but he had so much more confidence, this newfound confidence was so powerful that one of his grey dots dropped off.

When Punchinello went back to the village, all the other Wemmicks started to see his newfound confidence and started to give him golden stars and they started talking to him.

Just because we may be different from each other does not mean we are not special, we are all special in our own way

Don’t Let Your Past Define Your Future

Everybody has a past and a future, you must never let your past define what your future is going to look like. Whether it is a good past or a bad one, it doesn’t matter because the person who you choose to be in the present will constantly be changing and it is up to you whether it is a good change or a bad change.

I read a quote the other day that says, “Don’t let you past dictate who you are, but let it be a part of who you will become”. Just this one small sentence, can really make a huge impact on people, and it is amazing what can happen when we believe in ourselves and our abilities to make a massive difference in our lives and the lives of those around us.

Life is a beautiful adventure filled with lots of twists and turns and challenges. It is what you do with those challenges that matters the most. Make the most of your life and do the things you want to do, be with the people that you want to be with and never give up, even when the going gets tough.
