Things I am grateful for Day 5

Hey everyone

When I first heard about the Corona Virus I didn’t really think much of it. I always thought it would never get to South Africa, even the thought of that didn’t really make me scared at all.

Then when it came to Johannesburg and everybody started talking about the lockdown, I started to become more aware. Every time I go on Facebook, one of the first things to pop up on my feed is a story about someone getting the virus.

Being in lockdown has really made me think about my life and how grateful I am to be healthy and happy.

My family is really important to me, and so the fact that they are healthy and happy is another thing that I am most definitely grateful for.

What are you grateful for?

Things I am grateful for Day 4

Hey everybody

I hope you had an awesome day today and are staying safe.

About 2 years ago, my mom showed me a video of a clients daughter doing ballroom and latin dancing. I thought it looked like a lot of fun, so I decided to google places that teach ballroom and latin dancing. Lucky for me I found a place that is literally walking distance from where I live.

When I went to go check out the studio, I didn’t know what I was walking into, I knew that I was going to either like it or not like it. When I spoke to the lady that owns the studio, she told me about it and asked me if I wanted to do a free introductory lesson, at first I hesitated and then I decided to go for it.

After that first lesson, I knew I was involve with dancing and so when we started talking about me joining them, I didn’t hesitate as much, because I knew that it would be something I would love to do.

So I am without a doubt very grateful for not only dancing, but also my dancing teacher. He is the best teacher ever, he is very honest, even though half the time it’s not really what you want to hear and the best part is that he can take a joke. At that studio we are all not only friends but family.

Let me know in the comments below what you are grateful for.

Things I am grateful for Day 3

Hello everybody

I hope you had the best day and are staying safe.

I have a very large family filled with aunties and uncles, grandparents, nephews and nieces and brother and sister-in-laws.

All of these people have filled my life with so much happiness and joy and I think I am very lucky to have a family that has so much love to give. We have a brand new addition to our family, his name is Ryley and he is my adorable little nephew and I love him lots.

When I think about my life and all of my memories, I noticed that every single one of my memories included at least one person in my family and to me, that is truly something to be grateful for.

Please comment below and tell me what you are grateful for.

Things I am grateful for Day 2

Hey everybody

Yesterday I was grateful for the house that I live in.

Today I am grateful for my parents and my siblings. I am one of the lucky people who have 2 healthy parents and 1 brother and 1 sister. An added bonus is that I am also very close with my family and that means the world to me, because I know a lot of people that are not very close with their families.

Thank you all for reading my post, I hope you liked it. If you did like this post then please hit like and please let me know what you are grateful for in the comments below.

Things that I am grateful for… Day 1

Hi everyone, I hope you have had an awesome day.

I am starting a new challenge for myself. I will be posting something I am grateful for every day for 7 days.

There are a lot of people in the world that do not have the luxury of having a roof over their head and a comfortable bed to sleep on. My family and I are one of the lucky people who do have these luxury’s and that is one thing I am definitely very grateful for.

If there is anything you guys are grateful for then I fully encourage you to comment and let me know.

My Quarantine Experience

Hello everyone

I hope you and your families are all being safe during this sad time.

I must admit, staying at home for 21 days and not being able to do my absolute favourite thing in the world… dancing has been very hard. My parents and I have managed to stay sane during all of this by watching movies, playing swing ball, cleaning the house every Sunday because otherwise our house will be infested with dog hair and nobody wants that.

The things that I have been doing to keep myself sane are; painting, drawing, reading the novel I am currently reading (The Storm Sister), Reiki and Numerology, I have also been doing some cardio exercising and yoga. My parents and I have made a little tennis court in our driveway with a table as the net and it has actually worked out pretty well so far. When I am not doing all of these things, I am normally sitting in my room and watching TV, the show I am currently watching is called The Fosters and it is highly recommended.

I want to start a YouTube channel for fun however, I am battling to decide what to make it about.

You Are Your Only Limit

A lot has been happening within the past 2 weeks.

It started off with me finally getting a job and I am loving it. I do administration for an estate management company and the best part is that it is very close to where I live.

I went to a Valentine’s Day ball last week Friday and it was so much fun, we had a secret valentine and we did the YMCA line dance and it was also my brothers birthday which I think is just awesome because it is on the same day as valentines day.

On Saturday, I just relaxed to refresh myself for the upcoming week because I knew that Sunday was going to be a busy day.

I got my nails done and I must say they look so beautiful, and then we had a braai with family and I finally got to see my littles nephew again and it was the best part of my weekend and then I chilled for the rest of the day and got a good nights sleep before the start of Monday.

I promise I will try and blog more often and share my experiences and adventures with you all.

Enjoy the rest of your evening xx

The Seven Sisters

I think in my last post I made it pretty clear that I love dancing and tennis, well that isn’t the only thing that I love….. I am also a huge bookworm.

I have just finished reading this book by Lucinda Riley, it is called the Seven Sisters. Lucky for me this is not just one book, it is a whole series, and I will now move onto the next one “The Storm Sister”.

This post is not about the second or third book, it is about the first one.

Maia D’Apliese and her five sisters get together at their house in Atlantis when hearing the news about their fathers death. Maia and her sisters were all adopted by him as babies and, discovering he was already buried at sea, each one of them got given a clue as to what their true heritage is, a clue which takes Maia across the world to a mansion in Brazil. Eighty years earlier, in 1927, Izabela Bonifacio’s father wanted her to marry into aristocracy. Architect Heitor da Silva Costa is working on a statue called “Christ the Redeemer”, and will soon travel to Paris to find the right sculptor to complete his vision.

When Izabela learns of this, she tries to get her father to agree to let her go with him and his family to Paris, so that she can see the world before she gets married. After meeting a young sculptor named Laurent Brouilly, she knows that her life will never be the same again.

This book is definitely one of my favourites and I highly recommend it to all you bookworms out there.

Shining Stars

Happy Saturday everybody

Ever since I was a little girl, my goal was to be a professional tennis player and I was very motivated to make it work, I even went to a tennis academy which was probably not a good idea because it actually wrecked tennis for me because I played 6 hours of tennis in a day, I do however play socially every now and then.

About 2 years ago, I saw a Facebook post about somebody doing ballroom and latin dancing and I thought it looked like fun and so I decided to try dancing ballroom and latin dancing because it looked like something I would enjoy. I eventually found a place that is really close to my house. Ever since my first lesson at the studio I ended up forming a huge passion for dancing and my ultimate favourite dance is the Salsa. When I dance I feel free and I feel like nothing else matters, it is the one place where I can forget about all of my problems and just focus on the good.

Dancing is my life.

So, last year I participated in a dancing showcase called Shining Stars and it was by far the best experience. I did the Cha Cha with my teacher and it was so awesome, we did a super difficult routine and I did mess up a little bit while I was busy doing it but luckily nobody else noticed except for my dancing teacher and I.

I would now like to end this post with a quote “Dance is the hidden language of the soul” by Martha Graham

My Weekend Shenanigans

My weekend started off with me working on Friday at the club house in my estate as the hostess, and I was seriously busy. On Saturday, I actually had a really busy day. I went to 2 parties, one was at my boyfriends friend’s house, it was a pool party and even though the weather was the opposite of what it should be for a pool party, we actually had a good time. We listened to good music, ate good food and played games of pool. When I got back home, I went to the second party which was at my club house, its was a backyard bash. I had a lot of fun there, it was basically the same as the first party where we ate food, listened to music, but instead of playing pool, I got to chill with my family and I also got to play with my nephew for a while.
Last but certainly not least, comes Sunday. On Sunday, My brother, sister in law and my nephew came to our house for tea and lunch and we had a really great time. We had spinach and feta quiche for lunch and my sister in law and I decided to bake Nutella and banana pouches and even though they were incredibly messy and not so pretty…. they were really delicious and I definitely will make them again sometime. After we had the dessert, my mom, dad and I went to go look at a show house in the estate.
What did you do over the weekend ?
I will now end this post with a quote “Weekends are a bit like rainbows, they look good from a distance but disappear when yo get up close to them”. By John Shirley
