A True Legend Is Hard To Find

“There is no way around hard work. Embrace it.”

That quote was said by the one and only Tennis legend Mr Roger Federer. Ever since I was a young girl my one and only goal was to become just like Roger Federer. I spent almost half of my life switching between tennis coaches trying to find the perfect one which was very difficult because all of them were training me perfectly in completely different ways. So, I decided to take the biggest leap of faith and I went to The Riaan Venter Tennis Academy in Potchefstroom. Now to say that going there was tough would be the understatement of the century, playing Tennis for 4 hours a day and fitness for 2 hours is really hard but so rewarding at the end of the day because you realise that at the end of every day you are getting closer to reaching all of your goals.

During the week I was practising Tennis and going for lessons and on the weekends, I would be playing in Tennis tournaments which was incredibly fun but also incredibly competitive. Even though I truly enjoyed all of this, I realised that being a professional Tennis player is not what I am destined to become, truthfully, I am not too sure who I am destined to become.

This post is not about me though, it is about the true Tennis legend otherwise known as Roger Federer who over the years of watching him has taught me not only how to become the best Tennis player I could be, but he taught me how to become a good person which I believe is the best lesson you could ever learn.

So, I say good luck to Roger Federer in his retirement, we will all miss him
